How I Beach

The sun, the sand, the waves. Nothing beats the beauty of the beach. It will trick you into thinking you just need to show up and lay out. However, if you want to maximize your beach day there are some essentials we should go over. First things first: Plan ahead and pack.  A small cooler will come in handy for food and drinks. You don’t have to get those bulky blue or red ones with wheels. There are so many smaller and cuter cooler options, like the neon Chill Cooler Bag below. I use it all the time!

Food goes fast when you’re swimming around all day. So pack more snacks and sandwiches than you think you’ll need. You don't have to get complicated here. Think pb&j’s or turkey and cheese sandwiches. The simpler, the better.

Next up: activities! If sandcastles aren’t your jam, pack a book, a chess board, or whatever floats your boat. If you don’t mind getting a little sand on it, bring it to the beach. We packed art supplies on our last beach trip and made some awesome water color paintings.

The final tip I’ll give you on how to have an awesome beach day is to get comfy. If you plan to spend a few hours there, bring items you can relax on. Pack a chair, like the Beach Chair below, so you can sit back and get your tan on.

A large picnic blanket, like the Striped one above, will come in handy if you're going with a few people. There's room for everyone to take a seat. The colors make it easy to spot for that moment when you leave the water and can’t remember where your stuff is.

If you want to have fun and relax at the beach, a little planning goes a long way! Check out more beach essentials here.
