Cat Cora is President and Founder of Chefs for Humanity, an organization which was founded in response to the 2004 Tsunami disaster. Modeled after Doctors Without Borders, the not-for-profit gathers the culinary community together to raise funds and provide resources for important emergency, educational and hunger-related causes.
Chefs for Humanity is an alliance of culinary professionals and educators working in partnership with U.S. and global organizations, providing nutrition education, hunger relief, and emergency and humanitarian aid to reduce hunger across the word.
Our Chefs Council and Chefs Corps volunteer their time, expertise, culinary and nutritional knowledge work to support national and world-wide relief programs working to reduce hunger.
1 Million in 1 Month for Haiti
In Partnership with the
United Nations World Food Programme
Haiti was devastated by an earthquake in 2010 and estimates are that over three million people's lives are still in jeopardy. One year later, we are proud to announce that the funds raised through Chefs for Humanity have been used to purchase 60 clean cookstoves that will provide thousands of meals to children in Haiti.
